Big Creek, GSMNP
Located at the foot of Mt.
Sterling this is, to me, one of the nicest streams in the park.
The water in places takes on really surreal colors as a result
of minerals leaching out of the rocks and soil. Lower Walnut
Bottoms, roughly 5 miles up the trail, is one of my favorite
backpacking sites - just beautiful - and in the autumn it's prettier
than that!
