Black Cherry -
Prunus serotina
This distinctive bark which separates into small plates which
curl up along the bottom edges is distinctive on this tree. Long
clusters of small, white flowers are present from April until
June. Small, sour berries are present from June until August,
and are an important food source for many birds.
