Blue Flag Iris
- Iris versicolor
Similar to the more familiar
garden Iris, this member of the Lily family, which is native
to the northeastern United States, is found in wet meadows and
swampy areas throughout the mountains. More common at low to
middle elevations, it is often found near old homesites and is,
in my opinion, a truly beautiful thing to find.
