Bluebead Lily - Clintonia borealis

 Bluebead Lily - Clintonia borealis
This native Lily blooms from May until July. The shiny, basal leaves are characteristic of the species and were used by Native Americans as a poultice for burns. By late summer the blue, spherical fruit for which it is named will be evident. The fruit often persists until late autumn, and even early winter.
