Virgin's Bower Seeds
- Clematis virginiana
I think this is one of the prettiest seed systems around. The
feathery plumes allow the wind to distribute the seeds and get
the kids out on their own. The parent plant then need not compete
with its' offspring for nutrients and water. Additionally, if
the parent plant gets destroyed in a fire (or construction of
a new mall!) the next generation may be safe across the valley!
