Crested Iris -
Iris cristata (White form)
A member of the Iris family, this blooms from April until May,
and is one of this region's most admired spring blossoms. Some
of these bloom with a yellow
- orange crest. As is the case for all Iris the style and
stigma are located under the uppermost sepal. This forces any
insect looking for nectar to carry and deposit pollen from flower
to flower.
