 Day Lily - Hemerocallis fulva
An introduced member of the Lily family, this species is thought to have been introduced into the Americas by the crews of early sailing ships returning from the orient. In Asia the entire plant is eaten. The stems are prepared like Asparagus, the flower buds like green beans, and the rootstock like corn.
