Dutchman's Pipe

The flower of this member
of the Birthwort family was once used as an aid in childbirth
due to the supposed resemblance of the flower to a human fetus.
A more evident resemblance to a smoking pipe led to the common
name. These unusual flowers are in bloom from May until June.
