Ruby Throated Hummingbird
Chicks
This shot was taken in
early September. The chicks left the nest the day after this
photograph was taken. Within a month they had left the area on
a migration
to Mexico. The nest is constructed primarily of plant down with
lichen held together by spiderweb. The nest is approximately
1.5 inches wide.
