Jack-in-the-Pulpit - Arisaema triphyllum

 Jack-in-the-Pulpit - Arisaema triphyllum
A member of the Arum family, this species can change its gender based upon environmental conditions. An unusual flower blooms in mid-Spring. The seed pod is often found late in fall and even into winter, unless they are eaten first. The plant has long since withered and, unable to support the weight of the seeds, has dropped them to the forest floor.
