 Large-fruited Hawthorn - Crataegus punctata
This is a member of the Rose family as indicated by five petals and numerous stamen. This species has thorns, actually modified twigs, doubly serrate leaves, and fruit which are dotted with brown. Commonly found in this region, they bloom from April into early June.
