This introduced member
of the Aster family has escaped from cultivation and is now common
throughout this area. Thought to have been introduced in early
shipments of crop seed stock. It is so prolific, and was in such
disfavor that in Scotland surveys were taken, and the landowner
who had the most of them growing on his property was fined
