Pileated Woodpecker
Holes on a Sourwood
There is always something
interesting to be found in nature. The blocky bark on this Sourwood
tree is one of my favorites. This tree offered the bonus of showing
signs of Pileated Woodpeckers. While most woodpeckers dig into
trees, the Pileated almost always does so in an elongated, almost
rectangular fashion.
