This close relative of the Yellow
Buckeye is a member of the Horse Chestnut family. This
is a northern species not native to this area, but has escaped
from cultivation and does well in some areas. Blooming at around
the arrival time of Ruby
Throated Hummingbirds, they are a favorite food of those
birds and many species of bees.
