Spiderwort - Tradescantia

This member of the Spiderwort
family is distinguished by its bright yellow stamen. Closely
related to Dayflowers,
each blossom opens only in the morning and collapses by afternoon.
These are frequently planted around nuclear production facilities
since the hair on the stamen discolors when exposed to radiation.
