 Tent Caterpillars - Lasiocampids
These moth larvae overwinter in egg masses laid in the crotches of trees. The larvae emerge in the spring and feed outside of their tent, using that only as a resting place. Apple and Cherry trees are among their favorites. These apparently do little real harm to the host tree.
