Wild Geranium -Geranium
maculatum
This species features
blue pollen which is unusual, most pollens are yellow to orange.
This is a true geranium, unlike the plants commonly planted by
gardeners which are actually Pelargoniums. A common name for
this species, Cranesbill, is derived from the seed pods which
elongate as they mature and were said to resemble the bill of
a Crane.
